COUPLE THERAPY
Are you experiencing difficulties in your relationship? Do you feel stuck in a pattern that you find it hard to get out of? Know that you’re not alone!
This is an opportunity to explore ways to prevent unnecessary conflicts, deepen your relationship, and gain a better understanding of yourselves, each other, and the dynamics that exist between you.
In couples therapy, we're not looking to find a scapegoat. As a therapist, I'm convinced that we all have good reasons for why we act and react the way we do. But when we're in a relationship, it can be challenging to look at our situation objectively, especially when both of our defense mechanisms and survival strategies are activated. This is where it’s very helpful to meet with a third impartial person who can assist and guide you through what feels difficult and vulnerable.
Here are a few examples of what we can work on in couple therapy:
Conflicts and difficulties in communication
Infidelity and jealousy
Life crises
Grief and loss
Lack of presence, contact, and intimacy
Divorce
Blended families
Being and becoming parents
Couples check-up - How are we doing in our relationship? An opportunity to check in with each other and our relationship in order to prevent conflicts. You don't have to wait for a crisis to arise to go to couples therapy.
During a session, we explore new perspectives and look for new ways to move forward.

FAMILY THERAPY - a pathway to family harmony
Family therapy is an opportunity for your family to explore how you’re functioning as a unit and the quality of relationships shared amongst yourselves. Whether you are parents with young children, parents with adult children, single parents with children, families with divorced parents, or blended families - family therapy can be a source of great benefit.
In family therapy, we focus on understanding the dynamics that drive family interactions. As a therapist, I prioritize creating a safe and non-judgmental space where every family member feels seen and heard. My aim is never to single out any member as the root of the problem that needs fixing. Instead, we focus on how emotions are expressed, how differences are managed, and explore new ways to improve family relationships.
Children in the therapy room:
In family therapy, we start by looking at the parents' relationship, and the responsibility for the family's well-being and atmosphere always rests with the adults. Children present in the therapy room are encouraged to participate in the conversation to the extent that they feel comfortable and capable of, considering their age. Whether they actively contribute or prefer to play alongside, their presence is an invaluable contribution to the session
Children's behavior can be a symptom of disharmony within the family unit. They can sense when something is amiss, and it is our responsibility as adults to help them understand and cope with their feelings. Failure to do so can lead to negative emotions such as guilt, shame, and loneliness. Therefore, the therapy room can serve as a space where parents can get guidance in how to communicate with their children about family dynamics and help them process their emotions.
Examples of what we can work on in family therapy:
Family conflicts
Communication difficulties
Discomfort experienced by one or more family members
Divorce
Living in a blended family
Illness, grief, and loss
Anger and outwardly expressed behavior
Parenting
While children do not need to be present at every session, their involvement in the first and last sessions is highly recommended.
